The Mile Zero Story

We are honoured and proud to be able to provide our neighbours with life changing travel experiences. We very much look forward to travelling with you, and afterwards, returning safely to this beautiful island that we call home.

The Mile 0 landmark is a distinct symbol of Vancouver Island. For us, it represents where all of our tours begin and end: at our home base in downtown Victoria.

Our name also reflects our philosophy of travel. We believe that travel broadens the mind and gives each of us a different perspective on life. At Mile Zero Tours, we are on a mission to share this idea with the community. Our hope is that with every tour, we return home wiser, humbler and with a re-energized perspective on life. We are also proud to be a member of the following organizations:

Mile Zero Tours was established in 2014 by owner/operator David Rose, whose vision was to open a quality travel company catered specifically to the needs of the residents of Vancouver Island. With over 18 years in the travel business, David brought his idea to fruition.

As a locally owned and operated business, Mile Zero Tours’ primary objective is to provide first class guided travel experiences uniquely tailored to the needs and expectations of Vancouver Islanders.

The name Mile Zero Tours was inspired by Victoria’s historic ‘Mile 0’ monument. Situated next to Beacon Hill Park, the well-known landmark marks the start of the Trans-Canada Highway. From this point, the Trans-Canada stretches through all ten Provinces to end in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It is one of the longest highways in North America and connects Canadians from west to east (or, east to west, respectively).

Think Local First is a non-profit society who's goal is to encourage people to patronize local businesses so we can keep Greater Victoria a vibrant, sustainable community and make it a better place to live! Supporting local, independent businesses has a multiplier effect on the amount of money that stays in our community!

Consumer Protection BC is a not-for-profit corporation that protects consumers and encourages a fair marketplace in British Columbia. All organizations in the Travel Services industry must be licensed by Consumer Protection BC.
